The church filled to the rafters with song when Counter-tenor Joao Paulo Ferreira vibrantly sang at a charity concert held in St Andrew’s Church on Thursday, 30th November.  Joao, originally from Brazil and now living in Portugal is a remarkable singer who is outstandingly talented and charismatic, his range of notes is incredible and with ease he performed Vivaldi and Leclair to Henrique and Gimenez .  Joao was accompanied by pianist Claire Tester an astonishingly gifted performer and an excellent string quartet from London.  The young musicians, Ella (Clarinet) and Bethany (violin) were inspiring and the folk Fado duet great fun.  The evening raised significant funds for the fabric of the 12th century parish church, which is administered by the Friends.   A truly memorable occasion for all and we thank Juliet Bothams, a local entrepreneur for her sponsorship and support.
