9th September Ride and Stride Event - Most counties in England hold an annual Ride and Stride event to raise money for church restoration and repair. The idea is that cylists and walkers are given a list of churches in the area of their choice. They map out their route and arrange to be sponsored by friends for a fixed sum or donation per church visited. The money collected is divided in two - half for a church of the partaker's choice and half for the Surrey Churches Preservation Trust for distribution to churches in need. For details contact Sam Osmond on 01252 716772.
